Why do I have to pay this year?
For the past two years, Kolla was free to enter. Unfortunately, we cannot continue like that if we want to survive and grow. Here’s why:
- Costs are rising: Even with generous support from the Œuvre de Secours Grande-Duchesse Charlotte, the City of Luxembourg, and the SNJ, selling drinks alone doesn’t cover our expenses. Being eco-conscious and sourcing local, fair products also comes at a higher price.
- Artists deserve fair pay: This year, every artist—whether a well-known act or a newcomer—will receive a fair fee. Culture isn’t free; it’s made possible by passionate people who deserve to be compensated.
- Safety restrictions: The City of Luxembourg currently limits us to 500 people on site (including crew, artists, and volunteers). With such a cap, we can’t rely solely on bar sales.
- Quality experience: We want to provide you with great sound systems, diverse music from different countries and genres, and a unique festival atmosphere.
- Infrastructure costs: Even though we build much of the site from upcycled materials, we still have to pay rent for our workshop where materials are stored and prepared year-round.
A realistic, fair price for a 3 day pass would actually be
135€
By buying a ticket, you’re not just attending a festival—you’re supporting a heartful project, a creative platform, and a safe space. If we succeed in covering our costs, we can reinvest in material and infrastructure to make next year’s Kolla even better.
